The Challenge
Create Deeper Relationships with Customers through their Social Networks
Since 2003 Social Networks are evolving and creating stronger bonds with their users, they have changed the panorama on how people communicate and interact.

Our Challenge was to understand the motivations and needs of the social network users, and create deeper relationships with them by providing products that can they can relate to, and enhance their social network experience

The Approach
Easy Fast Clean
The assumption was easy, social network users, want more followers, subscribers, or likes, But why?, why do they prefer one social network over another?, and most important, what social network can be enhanced the most.

Design Strategy Methods
Stakeholders Interviews
Interviewing key stakeholders in a project, both internal and external, to gather insight about their goals, helps prioritize features and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
Value Proposition
Product definition that maps out the key aspects: what is it, who is it for,  and when/where it will be used.

Competitive Audit
Analysis of competitor products, mapping out their existing features, to identify opportunities to innovate.

Personas
A relatable snapshot of the target audience that highlights demographics, behavior, needs and motivations through the creation of a fictional character.

Storyboard
Translating functionalities into real-life situations
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Sketches
Quick exploration for the new interface, done at different levels of detail in order to validate product concepts
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Wireframes
Iterations and paper prototyping done for A/B testing

Usability Test
Inexpensive paper prototypes allowed us to validate and receive feedback from the initial wireframes, have a better understanding of the user needs, and how they interact with the product, thanks to this usability tests, we are able to further refine the original wireframes and consider other functionalities for a more robust product.

Refinement and Interactions

Detailed annotations are handed to the developer team, explaining how each page / component behaves in all its different stages ( videos and prototypes are provided )
Color & Typography
Color of the UI was determined depending on the social network that it would be targeted towards.

Typography was standardized across all MVPs, we did not wanted users to be influenced by fonts or visual, but to discover what social network would be ideal for future products.

Design Comps and Mockups
Iterations on the final look & feel

The Results
Thanks to these MVPs we where able to identify Instagram and YouTube as the two social networks that people are more interested in having followers and subscribers.
The Discoveries
Having more followers and subscribers is definitely nice, but the motivation and needs of many users go beyond gathering followers, they are interested in improving their channels, and even have a future career in this social networks.
